Better late than never!

This summer we were lucky to go to Lake Powell with our family. This is actually one of our favorite family vacations because the kids just enjoy it so much. This year was a year of trials and fun. On the way down we blew a tire on the boat trailer, luckily we weren't to far from a town where we were able to find a replacement tire. Once we got there and everyone was settled we spent a lot of time playing and fishing. Trevin loved catching fish and making me be the lizard hunter I think we actually caught about 15 lizards. Teagan just enjoyed floating around in the lake. Trevin also tried water skiing, after attempting it behind the boat with out much success his uncle
Brady thought to pull him by running along the shore. This actually worked and he got up one time now I think he will be a little less hesitant to try it behind the boat. After 4 days we called it quits and headed home for some well deserved rest and relaxation.

Trevin's Birthday...

Are little man is growing up. There seems to be so much excitement every year in June not just because school is out for the summer break but because it is Trevin's Birthday. He kept telling me for months that all he wanted was a Lego Indiana Jones Cake with Indiana and Short Round. I felt completely overwhelmed what was I going to do? Not only was I confused about how to decorate the cake but where was I going to find Short Round Lego's. I just happened to come across a Lego set one afternoon that had Short Round so I bought it on the spot. I guess after several thought and some discussion I came up with this cake and he was thrilled it was exactly what he wanted. He is currently obsessed with anything Indiana Jones or Lego so all he wanted were Lego's or a Bull whip. We of course settled for Lego's but Nana had a better thought and found him his very own Bull whip ( I told her she would be the first to know when he takes out his eye or whips his sister) Oh well he was so excited, lets just hope he follows our advice and uses it with caution. Trevin has grown up so much this past year and I just can't believe how time fly's. We are so lucky to have such a good boy in our lives we wouldn't know what to do with out him. Thanks to everyone who showed up for the party it was a huge success.

P.S. Don't mind the silly look on his face, he thinks every time a camera is around that he needs to act silly.

Mothers Day.

So for those of you that don't already know this, I am not the biggest fan of Mothers day. I like the concept of showing my mothers how much I appreciate all they do and spending time with family, but unfortunately my husband manages to make it miserable and I am more often than not disappointed. Well this year I planned on it being just another ordinary Sunday. Well of course Jay decided on Saturday that he was going to take the kids and go camping and that they wouldn't be back until Sunday late afternoon. So being me I threw myself a pity party, not only was I mad I couldn't go but I was upset that on Mother's Day morning I would be all alone and then I would have to go to my darling baby nieces blessing by myself. Well Sunday rolls around and I get up and get ready to leave and about 30 minutes before I take off they roll in. So we made a mad dash for the showers got both kids ready and I took off for the church leaving my hubby behind. When we returned he was showered and ready to go to my sisters for lunch and sitting on my table was a Juki Serger. I have been wanting a Serger for years and every time I need one I borrow one from my mother in law or my good friend Tiffany. I was so shocked not only that he was showered and ready to go but that he has actually been listening to me over the years express my interest in a serger. We ended up having a really good day, he pulled out all the stops and made it so nice for me. I will still be leery of certain holidays but he certainly proved me wrong this time. I hope my family and friends all knows how much I love and appreciate all they do for me. I don't know how we would be managing through this tuff time in our life's had it not been for all of you who have been so willing to help out with the kids, and everything else. You are all a blessing in my life and I deeply appreciate you.

Wicked

I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to go see the Broadway hit Wicked this weekend with my two sister in laws, my mother in law, and four of my nieces. We left on Saturday and spent the day shopping, eating, watching movies, and just hanging out. Then on Sunday we got up and attended the afternoon matinee. I had so much fun, the show was amazing and the company was even better. It seems that the older my nieces and nephews get the busier everyone is so that means less time to see on another. I was shocked at how much they are all growing up and I am so proud of them for being such good girls. Its amazing how we all just are so busy that time just fly's by and you don't even notice until one day you are finally forced to take a minute and stop and everything is changing. I came home with a renewed strength (probably from getting a break from all the hustle and bustle) and hope of spending more time with my family. Thanks you to Marlene for inviting us all to stay over night it was well needed and I had a total blast. I hope we do it again this fall like we used to.

Princess Birthday

Today we celebrated Teagan's birthday with her friends. They all come wearing there favorite princess dress ups and we had a princess tea party. I made Jello-o jigglers, fruit kabobs, and peanut butter and jelly on rainbow bread ( colored bread). Then later we ate cake and ice cream. This year she insisted upon a Barbie princess cake so of course that is what she got. Teagan had such a great time with all of her little friends over and they were all just so excited. I can't believe how quickly time is going and how quickly she is growing up. So all in all it was a major success, thanks to everyone who came I hope you all had a wonderful time.
